Some places hold more than memories.
They hold stories—layered, lived-in, and still very much alive.
On January 16th, 2026 at 3:30 PM, Palisades Tahoe will be hosting a book signing for Four Women and a Mountain at Bar One, nestled in the heart of Palisades Tahoe. It’s a location that feels not just meaningful—but inevitable.
Bar One is where Jeanne Reuter and Dick Reuter held their wedding reception—a celebration rooted in love, community, and mountain life. It’s also where my mother, Neata Arnbrister, alongside Ken Arnbrister, brought Fine n’ Funky fashion shows to life—events filled with creativity, boldness, and a sense that anything was possible in those rooms.
To return to this space now, with a book that honors the women, histories, and legacies of the Sierra, feels profoundly full circle.
Four Women and a Mountain is about exactly this: how women shape culture not only through grand moments, but through gatherings, risks, creativity, and staying power. Bar One has witnessed all of that. Weddings. Fashion shows. Conversations. Community. And now—stories coming home.
If you’ve ever loved this mountain, been shaped by its people, or believe in the power of women’s stories to endure across generations, I would love to see you there.
